COMD Celebrates 75 Years! We have 9 research labs investigating human communication and 5 NIH-funded principal investigators. In 2023, 100% of our MA students passed the praxis exam on the first attempt. Historically, more than 90% of MA graduates are employed in speech-language pathology positions within 9 months of graduation. In 2016: 100% of our students passed the Praxis Exam on the first try Our student’s scores on the Praxis were above state and national averages 100% of our students were employed within 6 months after graduation WELCOME TO THE POWERHOUSE!The American Sign Language Interpreting Program is the first baccalaureate degree for ASL Interpreting in Texas and our faculty possess expertise in training individuals to meet rigorous state and national certification standards. UH COMD is hosting an ASHA CEU event to celebrate Dr. Lynn Maher’s retirement! Join us on Saturday, May 18 from 3-5 PM for Advances in Language Disorders: Aphasia and Apragmatism featuring Drs. Randi Martin, Tatiana Schnur, and Peggy Blake. This event is free of charge, but we will be accepting donations to the UH COMD Fund in Dr. Maher’s name. A retirement celebration will follow.
